Cabin trip

Red River, NM
The highlight of our trip was hiking to Wheeler Peak, highest point in New Mexico (13,161 feet above sea level).  It was my 2nd hike to Wheeler.  We left at 6:30am in the morning and returned home at 5:30pm.  We took the longer hike so that we could enjoy the scenic views.  We encountered mountain sheep which were territorial due to their babies.  One charged us but Layton fired off a warning shot.  We retreated for a bit and then continued on the trail.  On the way, we stopped at Lost Lake and Horseshoe Lake, which were beautiful.

Flowers for Savannah.

 Notice Savannah has already reached the top.  She was so proud.  Tate needed a little assistance from Aunt Carlie. 

 We made it!  I love how Savannah put her arm around Tate as if to say, "Hey bro, it's okay."

 Savannah loves feeding the chipmunks.

Look to the right of Savannah.  The chipmunks weren't scared of Savannah.  She'd sit so still and quiet to see the chipmunks close up.
